Have had a strange headache for two days now. Reading Tal's livejournal, every entry, and came across one about a 'depression headache'. Back in 2004.
Now I'm taking an Enneagram test.
Quotes keep running through my head, particularly "The ice is a place I will never go back to".

| ALOHA!!!!! |
[30 Oct 2007|11:31am] |
yes believe it or not i'm going to HAWAII for a destination wedding in august! i can't believe it. destination wedding?? that's so...i don't know what it is. here i was just thinking how i'm never going nowhere because i have no $$$ but my mom and aunt and cousin and cousin's soon-to-be-wife just simply MUST have me at this wedding so it's ***free***. i am EXTREMELY excited about this as 1. lost is filmed there and 2. honolulu seems like the perfect city to live in 3. it's HAWAII 08/08/08 cuz they want it to be lucky like that. my mom is like "i haven't been on a plane since 1981"!!!!!! i'm so excited for her too
so being a college graduate, or at least having it say that on my resume, is really awesome. i just got a call today and i have an interview in the big city next wednesday doing things i basically did at clinic. also i passed my math proficiency test today with FLYING COLORS-- 18 out of 25!!! i overachieved for the first time in my life!! i only needed a 16 to pass!!! i also received one mini size kit kat bar after she ran my test through the scantron machine and told me i passed.
i'm going to be me with the stigmata for halloween i guess. i never have fun when people are supposed to have fun so i probably won't do much of anything but if anyone wants to do something let me know!

[09 Oct 2007|06:07pm] |
Does anyone know of an author (alive and well today) that writes about American economics/money/currency from a liberal/anti-capitalist/radical perspective?
I mean specifically someone who writes about the future of currency--the state of the market and the physical state of money itself (i.e. the movement towards a totally electronic way of buying and selling things/no more paper money, having your credit card implanted in your hand, being able to send money from your cell phone).
THANKS

What hardcore band are you?
i'm not even bored right now i just really wanted to see what hardcore band i am. how does this quiz know my mood. i hate school, i'm at school right now, working on school. i seriously paid attention in my american history class, went to every one so far and studied and took notes and i probably failed my quiz today. he said it was on one of the four documents we went over in class. well i looked through all my notes and i found the treaty of torsedillas, the mayflower compact, the virginia treaty and the dec of independence. i took notes on all of them and made a little study sheet. and then what was the quiz on today? fundamental doctrine of 1639, not joking. i was brought to tears i was so confused. that pretty much did it for me right then, even if i do try at school it does not get me anywhere. i'll let everybody know what i got on it thursday

[20 Sep 2007|03:45pm] |
How is Harper's going to say they are just another nice liberal magazine when they publish this??? i know they are just another corporation and will do/publish anything to make $$$$ but come on!! they published <3david graeber<3 (an article that i can see without any exaggeration changed my life) curtis white and now this!! COME ON!!! they should just embrace their radicalness and have fun out there
http://www.harpers.org/archive/2007/09/00000000010
comment and i will give you my name and password so you can log in and read it if you are not subscribed
...on the other hand the david graeber article was all about unpaid internships and how any career path taken for a reason other than salary is sealed off to working class college graduates because they can't afford to work unpaid for 1 or 2 years. harper's does not pay their interns. :(

[What year was it?]
1998
[What were your three favorite bands?]
kate bush, smashing pumpkins, bjork
[What was your favorite outfit?]
probably a navy blue hoodie and black jeans
[What was up with your hair?]
i think i started dying it platinum blond in 8th grade. normal shoulder length cut.
[Who were your best friends?]
taylor, vanessa, my sister, my neighbor amanda, my neighbor nicole, my neighbor ellen
[What did you do after school?]
probably went home and ate a ton of food because i didn't eat in the cafeteria. i went to the library during lunch. i walked from school to home so maybe i got into some adventures along the way.
[Where did you work?]
my first 'real' job was at a pet store the summer before that, so i might have still been working there. otherwise at the CAPPUCCINO CAFE in the VF Factory Outlets.
[Did you take the bus?]
I was a walker!! 7th grade to 12th grade, i walked. i always relate immediately to people who walked to school. when i got my license my brother begged me to drive him to school so i drove for him. fuck being driven by your parents, anywhere. they weren't around in the morning to drive me anyway.
[Who did you have a crush on?]
i really don't remember... don't think i had a bf at all
[Did you fight with your parents?]
hahah yesssssssssssss
[Who did you have a CELEBRITY crush on?]
eddie vedder and any other grunge dreamboat. my bf who i dated for almost 2 years looked exactly like kurt cobain.
[Did you smoke cigarettes?]
my sister made me smoke a cigarette in 2nd grade and everyone called me 'smokey the bear' for YEARS after that. it was actually really shitty and scarring. i smoked cigarettes off and on since then.
[Did you lug all of your books around in your backpack all day because you were too nervous to find your locker?]
nah i just carried them. my neighbor nicole who i sometimes walked with hated bookbags so i kinda followed suit because she was older and wiser
[Did you have a 'clique'?]
no, i have never been a part of a clique
[Did you have "The Max" like Zack, Kelly, and Slater?]
we had the shillington park, which i hated going to. otherwise there was turkey hill (seriously)
[Admit it, were you popular?]
no. i was made fun of for reading all the time and not saying much and being an atheist. in general the kids at my high school were not bullies, but not understanding or tolerant either.
[Who did you want to be just like?]
if anyone probably my sister or nicole. they both influenced me a lot but i don't remember wanting to be like them.
[What did you want to be when you grew up?]
a writer or librarian
[Where did you think you'd be at the age you are now?]
really, i don't remember every thinking about what my life would be like at this age. a lot of my friends would talk about being married and stuff, because thats what we saw people this age doing, but i don't ever recall wanting that. i guess just being a writer.

[18 May 2007|09:48pm] |
Probably won't be updating this very much, I like my myspace blog a lot, so if you like to read this journal add me on myspace. Some of it is friend's only although my profile is public. The url is myspace.com/magenta100proof.
I got beige/cream leggings and they are way too obscene even for me. Should've tried them on first.

In 2007, magenta100proof resolves to... Cut down to ten hammocks a day. Volunteer to spend time with corn mazes. Apply for a new pointelle. Go to the cities every month. Overcome my secret fear of pintucks. Get back in contact with some old sundaes.

| CLPP CONFERENCE: MARCH 30th- APRIL 1st @ HAMPSHIRE COLLEGE |
[27 Feb 2007|09:40pm] |
IT'S CONFERENCE TIME!!
http://clpp.hampshire.edu/index.php
This is a really great conference. I've been looking forward to it since I went last year.
ESSENTIALLY FREE FREE FREE
We [alt.clin] are *99% sure* (pending budget stuff) that we are getting a hotel again. It depends upon how many people are coming--we might not be able to afford to pay for a hotel for a crazy amount of people. If you don't want to stay with us, or we can't afford it, there is free housing/floor/couch space at the college--but be sure to register soonish for that.
Transportation is free--I know I am driving, and Emily probably too.
They feed you also, although we went out to eat a few times.
IT'S SOOOOO GOOOOOOOODDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

I would have to say that chloe and marc jacobs are my favorite designers, but chloe definitely has the edge. mj is fun and grungy but chloe is ETHEREAL.
it's just PERFECT. all i want is structured big sweaters and tights and bubble everything in finely toned neutral colors and perfect fabrics. it's like living in a desert on another planet. or a dessert on another planet!
